Spawn

The Spawn world is the first world you'll visit. It is filled with helpful areas. Be sure to explore to find hidden tags and secrets.

Townsguard

Size: 20,000 x 20,000

Townsguard is the main world to create a town in. Here you will find plenty of space and resources. If you create a town in any other world, it might be deleted.

Tartarus

This is a holding world for monsters. The gods forged this to ensure that Townsguard would be safe. You will find two abodes. A floating island or a colosseum. Both are homes of monsters to be destroyed.

Resource

Size: 5,000 x 5,000

The Resource world is reset on a monthly basis. This is the world to destroy and make ugly.

Events

Come here for fun events hosted by Staff. If the doors are locked, no event is happening!

Shops

Here you can buy and rent shop stalls to create your own little store. Set a player warp here for ultimate shopping experience. If you have any questions, please consult Staff.

What is Towny?

Towny is a plugin for a Minecraft server. The plugin itself is a manager for a Resident-Town-Nation hierarchy, as well as a block permission manager for a grid-like protection system. Each town has a mayor, while a nation has a king. They both have their own assistants to help run their respective people. Players can also purchase land from the town, as well as an optional daily tax set by the mayor. The player can allow his friends from out of town to build on his land when even his very own town's people can't build if he so wishes.

The basis of protection follows under how the world is separated into chunks. For those unaware, minecraft servers are broken up into 16x16x384 sections of blocks. The 384 being the height from the bedrock floor to the clouds in the sky. The protection ignores the height and focuses on the x and z planes. The default size for grid squares is 16x16, similar to the chunk size. So claiming a townblock (a grid square) allows that section of land to follow your town's or the plot owner's permissions.

Each town can claim up to a certain amount of townblocks, a set amount that is relative to the amount of players taking residence in that town. Residents themselves have no limit on how many they claim, however the daily tax will take a bite out of their resources. The money is tunnelled to the town's bank account that only the mayor can withdraw from, except if the town belongs to a nation. Any town belonging to a nation may be required to pay the nation a daily upkeep as well.

The gods of the land (admins) have the ability to start and end wartime mode. During war, most commands are frozen in order to focus on the event. Whilst at war, block permissions are ignored and any town that is in a nation is completely unprotected to the other nations residents. Also, each cell, or townblock, is given a certain amount of health. When a non-allied player enters the townblock, the townblock's health decreases. The town's residents have to force the player's out while still attacking others. When the health reaches zero, the town loses claim over that townblock. The focus is to defeat the each town's home block where the town's people spawn from.

What is mcMMO?

mcMMO was first made 8 years ago drawing inspiration from many games, in particular Morrowind. With its simple yet addictive nature, mcMMO quickly became mandatory for many servers. mcMMO is your 1-stop shop for adding that MMO experience to your server.

List of Skills

  • Acrobatics is a skill focused around moving gracefully, reducing fall damage and avoiding attacks. Experience in Acrobatics is gained by taking fall damage, successfully rolling on the ground, or successfully dodging attacks.
  • Alchemy is about brewing potions. It provides a speed increase in the potion brew time, as well as the addition of new (previously) unobtainable potions. Experience in Alchemy is gained by successfully crafting potions and by adding additional ingredients to existing potions.
  • Archery is about shooting with your bow and arrow. It provides various combat bonuses, such as a damage boost that scales with your level and the ability to daze your opponents in PvP. In addition to this, you can retrieve some of your spent arrows from the corpses of your foes. To gain XP in this skill you need to shoot mobs or other players.
  • Axes is a skill you can use your axe for much more then just deforesting! You can hack and chop away at mobs and players to gain XP, hitting mobs with the effect of knockback and inflicting DEADLY criticals on mobs and players. Your axe also becomes a hand-held woodchipper, breaking down the enemy's armor with ease as your level increases. To gain XP in this skill you need to hit other mobs or players with an Axe.
  • Excavation is the act of digging up dirt to find treasures. By excavating the land you will find treasures. The more you do this the more treasures you can gain. To gain XP in this skill you must dig with a shovel in hand. Only certain materials can be dug up for treasures and XP. Compatible Materials: Grass, Dirt, Sand, Clay, Gravel, Mycelium, Soul Sand, Snow.
  • Fishing skill allows you to fish faster and catch more unique treasures while fishing. To gain XP in this skill you will need to fish.
  • Herbalism is about collecting herbs and plants. To gain XP in this skill you will need to collect plants and herbs. Compatible Blocks: Wheat, Potatoes, Carrots, Melons, Pumpkins, Sugar Canes, Cocoa Beans, Flowers, Cacti, Mushrooms, Nether Wart, Lily Pads, and Vines.
  • Mining consists of mining stone and ores. It provides bonuses to the amount of materials dropped while mining. To gain XP in this skill, you must mine with a pickaxe in hand. Only certain blocks award XP. Compatible Materials: Stone, Coal Ore, Iron Ore, Gold Ore, Diamond Ore, Redstone Ore, Lapis Ore, Obsidian, Mossy Cobblestone, Ender Stone, Glowstone, and Netherrack.
  • Repair allows you to use an iron block to repair armor and tools. Repair tools or armor using the mcMMO Anvil. This is an iron block by default and should not be confused with the Vanilla Minecraft Anvil.
  • Swords skill awards combat bonuses to anyone fighting with a sword. XP is gained based on the amount of damage dealt to mobs or other players when wielding a sword.
  • Taming will give players various combat bonuses when using tamed wolves. To gain XP in this skill, you need to tame wolves/ocelots or get into combat with your wolves.

Brewery

It is time to brew some Potions. Unlike in vanilla Minecraft it is not as easy as adding an Ingredient to a Brewing Stand and waiting for it to finish. Depending on the Recipe the whole process can be difficult and time consuming. Some Recipes may need a high precision when it comes to Ingredients or any other step in the process. If one step was not good enough, the quality of the Potions may suffer, leading to side effects like bad alcohol and other toxics.

This new difficulty of brewing of the good stuff makes only sense, if the players are not aware of the exact Recipes for at least the more valuable Potions (like Rum). This makes high quality Potions worth much more and an experimenting and perfecting of the Brewing Process would be promoted.

Depending on the Recipe, some Steps may not be needed, the following instruction describes the common procedure of brewing.

Fermenting

Step one consists of Fermenting the fresh Ingredients.

  1. Place Cauldron over a Fire or other heat source
  2. Fill it with water
  3. Add Ingredients with a rightclick
  4. Wait a few minutes while they ferment
  5. Fill in glass bottles

Use a clock on a cauldron, if you want to know the time the ingredients have been fermenting.

Distilling

Some Recipes don't need distilling.

  1. Put the bottle with ferment into the brewing stand
  2. Put glowstone dust as filter on top into the brewing stand (The filter will not be consumed)

Aging

A barrel is needed for aging.

Minecraft Barrel | 6 Slots

Minecraft-Barrel can be used for aging of a few brews. Simply craft and place the barrel and put the brews inside.

You can also build bigger barrels. They can be built in two ways:

Small barrel | 9 Slots

Use 8 wooden stairs to build a barrel shape.

Place a Sign on the lower right side and write "Barrel" in the upper Line:

Message "Barrel created" should appear.

Big barrel | 27 Slots

Use 5 Fences, 16 Wooden stairs, and 18 wood planks to build a barrel shape. Attach a Spigot (Fence) and a Sign that has "Barrel" written on it:

Message "Barrel created" should appear

You may remove the Sign from the Big Barrel after creating it.

Open the Barrel by clicking on it.

  • Put the Bottles into the Barrels for aging.
  • For every Minecraft Day, the brews will age a year.
  • Depending on the Recipe, the Type of wood used for building the barrel may alter the quality of the aged Brew.
  • The Minecraft-barrel is always of wood type oak.

Drinking

The Amount of Alcohol inside the Brew will be applied to the player when drinking. Depending on the quality of it, that may have different effects.

  • The Player may not be able to walk normally anymore, he will weave, making it almost impossible to walk straight
  • Effects like Blindness, Confusion, Poison etc. occur
  • The Chat will be altered depending on drunkeness, many things players write may be incomprehensible, sometimes it seems senseless
  • Is the Alcohol particularly strong, it may have poisonous effects
  • After drinking a lot, there is a chance of vomiting
  • When logging off, the player may have difficulties reaching his character, thus some loggings shortly after may be denied
  • After Overdrinking the player may faint (Disconnecting)

Brew Sealing - for shop plugins

You can just give your created Brews to other Players and they might even put them back into a Barrel to keep ageing them. But most Shop-Plugins require sold items to be exactly equal and this is where sealing comes in. Imagine it like putting a seal on the bottle.

  • To sell Brews using Shop-Plugins, you will need to seal them using the Brew Sealing Table.
  • It is crafted with 2 Bottles over 4 Planks
  • Putting a Brew into the Sealing table will equalise it, making it equal to other Brews that have been brewed similarly.
  • Sealed Brews cannot be aged or modified any further and they don't show their details anymore

Getting Sober

After drinking it takes a while until the alcohol is completely gone. During that time the alcohol level is steadily decreasing. Also it can be decreased through consuming of items defined in the config.

  • When logging off extremely drunk, it may happen that, if the player logs back in after a while, he may find himself at an completely unknown Place in the middle of nowhere having no idea how he got there.
  • But if he loggs back in after some hours or next morning, he will find himself at /home, again without any memories.
  • Also if the Alcohol was not of best quality, the player may face some bad type of hangover (slowness and hunger).
